What’s keeping you so long Samsung Galaxy S III?

Samsung Galaxy S III

Many were disappointed that the rumored and highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S III don’t show up on the recent Mobile World Congress though Samsung has confirmed it with the Verge that it will be released before summer.

So what’s the reason why Samsung is delaying the release of the smartphone that will shatter the likes of this year’s super smartphones, the HTC One X and Sony Xperia U. One speculation that’s going around the web is really making sense as it is supported by very significant figures:

  • In less than a month, Samsung sold 1 million Galaxy S IIs in its home country of South Korea
  • Samsung sold 3 million units of the Samsung Galaxy S II in its first 55 days on the market
  • After 85 days on the market, units sold jumped to the 5 million mark
  • By September, the company shipped over 10 million units
  • At this point, 1 in every 10 South Koreans is carrying a Galaxy S II

With the Galaxy S III rumored specs which include a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, a quad-core Samsung Exynos CPU clocked at 1.5GHz, 12MP camera, and 4G LTE capability; no doubt that this super smartphone will be a monster that will kill even its predecessors life – Samsung Galaxy S II. As for now let’s settle with the little bits of information that we’re getting and hope that all of them will turn into reality.
