Sony and AT&T have released the new Xperia ion, the first LTE smartphone from Sony. And since it’s the first, Sony filled it with lots of outstanding features including a 4.6-inch HD touchscreen display, 12MP camera, dual-core 1.5GHz processors, cross-connectivity to other devices and many more.
Xperia ion features a 4.6-inch HD Reality display (720×1280 pixels) with Mobile BRAVIA Engine. The 12MP rear-facing camera with Sony Exmor R allows users to shoot like a pro; the Exmor R allows for fast-capture that takes less than two seconds from standby to the first shot. It also has a front-facing camera for video chat and can record HD quality video. The Xperia ion runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread (upgradeable to v4.0) with two cores clocked at 1.5GHz ready to jump on the fastest mobile network – LTE 4G.
Users can access the richest entertainment experiences from Sony Entertainment Network. They can stream 12 million unique songs from Music Unlimited or download the latest Hollywood blockbusters and TV shows from Video Unlimited without worrying that they will easily be out of storage with its 16GB internal expandable to 32GB microSD card slot.
Xperia ion is also a PlayStation Certified and allows for HD sharing through DLNA, HDMI and BRAVIA Sync so that users can quickly and easily stream content on other screens.
