Galaxy S5 is still struggling to match iPhone 5S sales

Counterpoint Research has just outed details of sales data for Apple’s iPhone 5S and Samsung’s Galaxy S5 which significantly shows that in the month of May, the Cupertino-giant’s smartphone is still leaving Galaxy S5 behind and remains in the second place. Same results also have been revealed in the UK, faring Galaxy S5 sales with those of Apple’s iPhone 5S and 5C —-though data shows that iPhone 5C(on 5th place) isn’t that popular like the 5S, Apple still managed to clear its inventory in the said period.

Here’s the top ten smartphones in May:

  1. iPhone 5S
  2. Galaxy S5
  3. Galaxy S4
  4. Galaxy Note 3
  5. iPhone 5C
  6. iPhone 4S
  7. Xiaomi MI3
  8. Galaxy S4 Mini
  9. Xiomi Hongmi Redrice
  10. Samsung Galaxy Grand 2

You might be wondering why popular handsets like Sony’s Xperia Z1, Moto G and LG G2 were not in the list, they fell just short in the list. In addition, sales report shows that Nokia X is expected to join the list by next month as it shows impressive numbers in just two months of sales.

With Apple and IBM’s partnership, expects Microsoft’s Window Phone and Blackberry to suffer as the collaboration aims to cater corporate businesses –currently WP’s accounts for 9.1 percent while BB grabs 1.1 percent of UK’s smartphone market.
